|
| The Modesto BART Express
bus must leave Modesto's Downtown Transportation Center and
Orchard Supply Hardware's (OSH) parking lot promptly on
departure times to meet the BART departures from the Dublin
/ Pleasanton BART station. As a courtesy to your fellow
passengers, please arrive in plenty of time to pay your fare
and select a seat so that the bus can leave on schedule.
Passengers with luggage must arrive at least ten (10)
minutes prior to departure. |
|
|
| MAX personnel will
attempt to contact BART before each afternoon return trip to
Modesto to determine if trains are running late. If trains
are running late, drivers will wait up to ten (10) minutes
past the scheduled departure times. MAX
cannot be held responsible for the transportation of
passengers who arrive at the MAX
bus bay after the scheduled departure times. |
| |
- Seat Reservations: Monthly pass
holders may make their reservations for seating on the
morning and afternoon bus for which they have a pass, on
a first-come, first-served basis. MAX reserves the right
to change seat assignments on a temporary or permanent
basis as needed. Monthly pass holders may also ride on a
bus in which they do not have a reserved seat, on a
space available basis. You may only reserve a seat on
the bus for which you have a pass. Only those
riders purchasing a full month pass
will be eligible for reserved seating.
- Morning Seating: On the morning
trips to Dublin, the first priority for boarding will be
pass holders with reservations on that bus. Second
priority is pass holders who have a reserved seat on the
other morning bus. Non-pass holders board last, on a
first-come, first-served basis, whether or not they are
purchasing one-way or round trip tickets.
Seats of pass holders who have not arrived five (5)
minutes before the bus is scheduled to leave in the
morning will be assumed to be vacant and available for
use by non-pass holders. If the pass holder boards the
bus within five (5) minutes of departure and their
reserved seat has been taken, the pass holder will be
allowed to sit in any unoccupied seat, or stand.
- Afternoon Seating: On the afternoon
return trips from Dublin, the first priority for seating
will be pass holders with reservations on that bus
followed by pass holders who have a reserved seat on the
other afternoon bus. Passengers with round-trip tickets
will be boarded next. One-way ticket purchasers will be
required to wait to see if there are enough spaces
(seats or standing room) to accommodate them on the bus
before they are sold a ticket. Early arrival is not
required on afternoon buses. MAX will not assume a pass
holder will not be returning on the bus that evening
because they did not ride the bus to the BART station in
the morning. Therefore, there will always be room on the
afternoon bus for pass holders even if they arrive late
in the morning or only ride in the afternoon.
|
| |
| Passes are not transferable between patrons.
All persons not paying a one-way cash fare must have a valid
round-trip ticket or monthly pass in their possession while
riding the bus. Fare evasion is a violation of State Penal
Code Section 640. |
